I'm fundraising for CEO Walk In My Shoes

I am joining my fellow CEOs in experiencing a day in the life of a family who stays at Ronald McDonald House Greater Western Sydney.

Why am I doing this?

I am proud to be taking part in CEO Walk In My Shoes, supporting Ronald McDonald House Greater Western Sydney.

This cause is particularly meaningful to me because I already have the privilege of volunteering at the House.

Through those shifts, doing the ordinary daily tasks that help keep the House running, I have been reminded of something very simple:

Life can change in a moment.

Imagine being told that your child is seriously ill and needs lifesaving treatment.

Suddenly, meetings don't matter.

Deadlines don't matter.

Everything you considered important yesterday takes second place.

You would drop everything to be beside your child.

But for many families, that also means leaving their home, work, friends and support network behind and travelling for treatment.

Ronald McDonald House Greater Western Sydney helps give those families a home away from home—providing accommodation at no charge, meals, practical support and, most importantly, helping families remain together when they need each other most.

Throughout my life, I have witnessed difficult circumstances in many different forms. One lesson has stayed with me:

When people are facing their own battlefield, they should not have to face it alone.

That's why I'm asking my friends, colleagues, business community and Life The Battlefield audience to stand with me and support this fundraiser.

You don't need to give a large amount.

Give what you can.

Share the campaign if you can.

Every contribution matters.

Because collectively, small acts of generosity can help carry an enormous burden for a family going through one of the most difficult periods of their lives.

This isn't about one CEO.

It isn't about one volunteer.

It's about keeping families together.

Kids should be living life — not fighting for it.
