What to expect during this immersive experience
You will gain a first-hand understanding what parents and carers go through on a daily basis, as well as getting an opportunity to see what it takes to create the best possible experience for a family and come to know the families staying at the House in Newcastle.
During this 22-hour overnight immersion experience, you will be:
- Cooking and serving dinner and breakfast to our families;
- Guided through real life scenarios, gaining a better understanding of what families go through;
- Using your skills and knowledge together to tackle a business issue
- Gaining a unique insight on what it takes to run the House and create a true sense of empathy for the families that stay at RMHC Newcastle.

Meet Savannah and Siobhan
Since September last year 4 year old Savannah and mum Siobhan have called Ronald McDonald House Newcastle their home away from home. Travelling from the mid-north coast for urgent care, Siobhan sees a noticeable
" The House has supported Savannah and I in so many ways. One of which being the most important, giving us a home away form home," said Siobhan.
"The sense of community is really comforting as I can see Savannah's spirits lift when she comes home from the Hospital. For that we are eternally grateful.
Whether it's the big essential elements to everyday life or the little things the staff and volunteers take pride in providing, we feel very supported and they all make a huge difference."
