I am joining fellow Mayors and CEOs in experiencing a day in the life of a family who stays at Ronald McDonald House Charities North Australia
Why am I doing this?
As Mayor, one of my biggest priorities is making sure our community stays connected and supported.
When I got the call to take part in the Ronald McDonald Walk in My Shoes campaign, it was an easy yes. I’m really looking forward to getting involved, raising much needed funds, and helping support this incredible service here in Townsville.
What really stands out to me is the chance to better understand what families go through when they’re trying to access the care their children need. Part of the program allows me to experience part of the journey these families endure to ensure adequate health care for their children.
I’m proud to be part of this and grateful for the opportunity to help make a difference.
