I'm fundraising for CEO Walk In My Shoes

"My name is Amorette (Ami) Zielinski, and I run Central West Mums — an organisation built around a simple but powerful goal: to connect mums, parents, and carers across our regional community, helping to reduce isolation and provide both emotional and practical support.

Feeling supported is paramount, especially when you live in a geographically spread-out region, are new to the Central West, or are stepping into parenthood for the first time. Connection can make all the difference.

Through Central West Mums, we’ve been able to strengthen and formalise the networks and relationships that have existed in our communities for decades, using social media and our online platform to bring people together in a safe, trusted, and accessible way. Today, our community includes over 10,000 mums, with a further 50,000 readers engaging with us regularly — and it continues to grow.

It is truly an honour to participate in the Ronald McDonald House Charities’ “CEO Walk in My Shoes” event. RMHC plays such a vital role in supporting families during some of their most challenging times, both locally and from afar. I am looking forward to preparing meals in the House kitchen, supporting fundraising efforts, or quietly showing up for families when they need it most

It’s a privilege to stand alongside you all in support of such an incredible organisation."

I am joining my fellow CEOs & Business Leaders in experiencing a day in the life of a family who stays at Ronald McDonald House Central West NSW.

Why am I doing this?

Imagine that you have just received the worst news possible – your child is seriously ill and you need to relocate your family in order to receive the lifesaving treatment that your child needs.

You would drop everything right? But what does that actually mean?

The families that stay at Ronald McDonald House are away from their home, their support system and everything they know. The House provides them with support to ensure they can concentrate on what is most important, their sick child and family.

These are just a few things Ronald McDonald House provide to families

  • A House that is open 365 days a year, to ensure families have a place to stay at no charge
  • Support sick kids and their families through various programs
  • Make sure families have a home cooked meal and most importantly
  • Continue keeping families together during this difficult time

Kids should be living life, NOT fighting for it!

I am asking you to support me in helping Ronald McDonald House Central West NSW continue providing a warm and supportive home-away-from-home for families of children travelling to the House for treatment.

If it were your child or a loved one's child wouldn't you want to know that they had this level of support?

Ami, I applaud you for stepping up and supporting Ronald McDonald House in this way. Worlds can be turned upside down due to illness, people left adrift - but places like this provide an anchor, helping to keep parents little more grounded.
